SNL’s Cold Open Nails What Many Are Thinking About Trump/Russia. BIGLY!

Despite the statements of some journalists, members of the Trump administration, and ardent supporters of President Trump – there is evidence of direct links to his Presidential campaign and Russian President Vladimir Putin. In an interview with NBC Anchor Lester Holt, President Trump admitted the firing of former FBI Director, James Comey was related to this very investigation:

He [Rosenstein] made a recommendation, he’s highly respected, very good guy, very smart guy. The Democrats like him, the Republicans like him. He made a recommendation. But regardless of [the] recommendation, I was going to fire Comey. Knowing there was no good time to do it!

And in fact when I decided to just do it I said to myself, I said, “You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.”

And the reason they should’ve won it is, the Electoral College is almost impossible for a Republican to win, it’s very hard, because you start off at such a disadvantage. So everybody was thinking they should have won the election. This was an excuse for having lost an election.

In March, Comey publicly acknowledged an ongoing investigation:

[The FBI is] investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts

Last night Alec Baldwin reprises his role as President Donald Trump, in a recreation of the latter’s interview with Lester Holt. Michael Che, who played the role of Holt was often flabbergasted by the responses of the President who openly admits the firing of Comey was related to the FBI investigating his administration’s links to Putin’s administration in Russia.

The skit also covers Trump’s admission of having “Nixonian” tapes, House Speaker Paul Ryan’s backing of the President, Kellyanne Conway, Anderson Cooper’s eye roll, and even throws in scoops of ice cream.
