The Blame Game Begins: GOP Lawmaker Accuses Dems of Inspiring Shooting

it didn’t take long to make today’s shooting about Democrats

New York congressman Chris Collins has already discovered the conspiracy behind today’s shootings.  Just hours after a gunman opened fire on GOP members practicing for a Capitol Hill baseball game, Collins has discovered that Democrats are to blame for the senseless shooting that injured House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and others today.

“I can only hope that the Democrats do tone down the rhetoric, The rhetoric has been outrageous … the finger-pointing, just the tone and the angst and the anger directed at Donald Trump, his supporters.”

Collins says the tide of dissent against Donald Trump only fans the flames of anger and hatred. Inevitably, he says, that leads to the breakdown of the liberal mindset and then bad things happen.

“You know, some people react to things like that. They get angry as well. And then you fuel the fires. Maybe this is a wake-up call. I’m not saying it will be, But let’s hope we could disagree on a more polite, conversational basis and not do things like what they did at my office a couple weeks ago.”

He is referring to a group of protesters exercising their First Amendment right to free speech who attended a ‘die-in’ at his office last week to oppose the attempted repeal of Obamacare.  Collins says the tone of disagreement, apparently has crossed a line and caused the disagreeable conversation to turn to bloodshed at the hands of a deluded progressive.

“I can only hope maybe there’s something here that would say: Let’s tone down the rhetoric. We can disagree politically but we can be polite,”

Collins, however made no mention of Trump’s use of rhetoric in his campaign. Apparently the call to ‘punch them right in the face’,  or saying  ‘ part of the problem is…nobody wants to hurt each other any more’ didn’t rise to the level of violent rhetoric the congressman was criticizing.  Who can forget Trump’s rally cry of peace and unity .

“If you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of them, would you? Seriously.”

Congressman Collins, understandably, has clearly made his point.
