“Fragile, Impetuous, and Childlike”: Mika and Joe Fire Back at Trump Tweet

Joe And Mika Address Donald Trump’s Twitter Tantrrum

Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were supposed to start their vacation Friday. Instead, the two decided to delay it in order to address the truly disgusting and bizarre tweets sent out by the President of the United States on Thursday.

In a petty, sexist and disturbing attempt to insult cable news host Mika Brzezinski for, apparently, hurting his feelings, Donald Trump tweeted out the following:

The tweets are reportedly in response to an off-the-cuff comment from Mika Brzezinski regarding the size of Donald Trump’s hands. In her own response to the truly ugly tweets from the President, Brzezinski tweeted out the following image:

Sometimes, when dealing with a very small man like Donald Trump, dismissive humor is the best way to go.

On Friday’s Morning Joe, however, both hosts addressed the implications of what it means to have a president who gets so personal and so ugly, and has a tendency to be particularly hateful to women.

Morning Joe: ‘We’re Fine…The Country Is Not.’

To begin with, Mika Brzezinski assured viewers she is fine. She was, she explained, raised tough and it will take more than ugly tweets from the president to hurt her. “I’m fine,” she said. “My family brought me up really tough. This is nothing. But I am , once again, very concerned about what this reveals about the president of the United States.”

She added, simply and truthfully, “It’s strange.”

And although Mika Brzezinski is fine, the entire experience is, she said, “fascinating and frightening and really sad for our country.”

In other words, Brzezinski’s feelings certainly haven’t been hurt by the president’s ugliness…but the country certainly has been.

Or, as Joe Scarborough said, “We’re okay. The country is not.” Joe then questioned why it is that the President takes things so personally – particularly when it comes to women. He referred to the president as “vicious” when it came to the president’s response to women. Scarborough also pointed out how he himself can slam Trump…yet Trump always goes after Mika, rather than Joe. And that his attacks are always “deeply personal.” And that is, Joe believes, because the president “fears women.”

Mika explained why, stating that it’s because the President’s ego is “fragile, impetuous and childlike.” It’s frightening, she added, that the President is “so easily played” by a cable news host, as well.

You can watch a clip of their response below.

So far, the White House has backed up the tweets, which are, according to Sean Spicer, official statements of the president. This is, Sarah Huckabee Sanders claims, proof that the president is a “fighter.” Furthermore, she stated, America knew what they were getting when they elected Donald Trump.

Sadly enough, that may be the truest statement the White House has ever released.
