‘Incoherent World View’: Four Star General Slams Trump Over North Korean Threat (VIDEO)

President Trump Threatens War

President Donald Trump shook the entire world on Tuesday when, taking a break from his vacation full of golfing and tweeting, he issued a threat against the volatile nation of North Korea.

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States. They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen… he has been very threatening beyond a normal state. They will be met with fire, fury and frankly power the likes of which this world has never seen before.”

On day 201 of Donald Trump’s presidency, he made nuclear threats against another nation, placing the entire world at risk. And he did so, it seems, without any direction from his staff or generals.

This was in response to the news that North Korea has furthered their nuclear capabilities, meaning that Trump’s threat has real-world implications that could occur at any time. In fact, North Korea quickly followed up Trump’s bombastic threat with the possibility of attacking Guam.

Retired four star General Barry McCaffrey appeared on MSNBC’s The 11th Hour on Tuesday night. During his appearance, he shared his belief that Trump’s statement was rogue, that he spoke without any input from the steady, sober military personnel with whom Trump surrounded himself. When host Brian Williams asked if U.S. National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster, Chief of Staff retired General John Kelly or United States Secretary of Defense retired General James Mattis had anything to do with Trump’s bombastic statement, General McCaffrey replied, emphatically, “Not a chance.”

“That was never signed off on after a top secret or coordinated telephone call among government agencies.”

In other words, the President of the United States has gone rogue. The man with the nuclear codes sat in front of cameras in between golf games and threatened war in an off-the-cuff statement, with little regard to how the world might react – or how North Korea might retaliate.

Trump’s ‘Incoherent World View’ Puts Us All In Danger

McCaffrey stated that those generals are thoughtful, stable men of experience – drawing a stark contrast between them and the president they are serving. And he implied that they should not be blamed for Trump.

“They are dealing with a president with an incoherent worldview.”

And that seems to be a running problem in Trump’s presidency. He has no compass. He acts impulsively, out of emotions, on a whim or on a tide of anger. There is a reason why you hear the word “unprecedented” so often in connection with Trump.

In the end, McCaffrey slammed the president for being an inept, dangerous leader.

“Never, in my experience, has a president made this kind of a blustering statement,  never mind implying the use of nuclear weapons. You don’t threaten people in public. You threaten them in private, and then you have to be prepared to follow through with what the threat was, so this is a real blunder on the part of Mr. Trump.”

You can watch the exchange in the clip  below, starting at the 8:15 mark, but the entire segment is worth watching. McCaffrey is right – the president committed a real blunder on Tuesday.

But the biggest blunder is that America elected him in the first place.
