Trump Shill Kellyanne ‘Conjob’s’ Latest ‘Alternative Fact’ is the Biggest Doozy of All So Far

If there is one thing the Republican Donald Trump administration and his party in Congress have been repeatedly lying about lately, it’s the idea that they tried to be bipartisan in 2017. And the latest example came this morning from Trump adviser and coiner of the ridiculous phrase “alternative facts”, Kellyanne Conway.

Conway appeared on Trump’s favorite television show Fox & Friends this morning and gave a completely preposterous answer about the party reaching across the aisle last year. The White House adviser stated:

I didn’t allow petty partisan politics to get in the way because we saw that in 2017. I thought 2017 was a disappointment when it came to bipartisan action. A lot of bipartisan talk and a president who always had that olive branch extended…

He’s made very clear that there is no deal on DACA unless the wall is built, unless there is funding for the wall. He’s made this very clear. This president is so accessible and so transparent on these policy prescriptions.

The problem with this, of course, is reality does not match up with this rhetoric. This is particularly true when it comes to the two biggest pieces of legislation considered this past year.

Democrats (and women) were left in the dark when it came to crafting the Republican health care reform bill that would eventually go down in flames due to GOP opposition. As for the tax bill that will add more than a trillion dollars to the national debt, even fellow Republicans had no idea what was in it before passing the giveaway to the wealthy and corporations.

Twitter did not let the outlandish rhetoric from Kellyanne Conway go unnoticed. Some even gave a recent history lesson on how Republicans acted during the last administration.

Some users also noted the Republicans were pushing massively unpopular legislation and Conway mentions another highly disdained idea from Donald Trump.

Kellyanne Conway and Republicans can whine about the lack of bipartisanship as much as they want. But maybe they should try coming up with ideas the American people actually want in the first place. Then they might get some Democrats on board.

But until then, it’s ridiculous to cry about bipartisanship when you continue shutting out the minority party from crafting major legislation.
