The disgusting Incident

Barry Baker was caught by a surveillance camera mocking and later assaulting a 22-year-old man with cerebral palsy. The incident brings up memories of then-candidate Donald Trump’s mocking of Serge Kovaleski, who has physical disabilities.

The incident occurred outside a 7-Eleven in West Chester, Pennsylvania on May 10th, the 29 year old Baker has been arrested and charged with assault for his actions. His bail is set at $25,000 and a hearing in his case is scheduled for May 30th. “The defendant’s actions, in this case, are appalling. You wonder what would make an individual treat somebody like that.” West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn quoted to the New York Daily News.

Tom Hogan, Chester County District Attorney had the following remarks about the incident:

This defendant is a bully. Every decent citizen should be outraged by the defendant’s conduct. The victim is to be commended for keeping his cool and notifying the police.

The victim returned to his vehicle and called the authorities after he was assaulted by Baker.

Baker’s Criminal Record

Baker, who currently resides in Georgetown, Delaware his a lengthy arrest record. In 2006, he was charged with 80 counts of intentional desecration. The Pottstown Mercury reports:

In September 2006, representatives of the Forks of the Brandywine Church in West Brandywine and Hephzibah Baptist Church in East Fallowfield notified township police there that they had discovered that more than 200 military flag holders were missing from the grave sites of veterans at the two cemeteries.

Police were able to track down the flag holders to a scrap company in Quarryville, Lancaster County, An employee at the company was able to identify the person who brought the holders in for sale as Baker.

Later, police interviewed Baker’s then-girlfriend, who told them that Baker and another man had met with a man identified as “Mush,” who gave them a large number of flag holders, which they took to the scarp yard and exchanged for $500. Baker and the other men split the money, although Baker allegedly took a majority share “since it was his idea to take the items to the scrap yard,” according to an arrest affidavit in the case.

He was charged with receiving stolen property, and was sentenced to 11 1/2 to 23 months in Chester County Prison in April 2007 after pleading guilty.

Baker’s history of stealing from military graves will not help him in his most recent charges.
