Trump Heaps Praise on ex-Aide Accused of Abuse
Donald Trump Says Rob Porter ‘Says He’s Innocent’ And ‘Did A Very Good Job’ At WH
As yet another person leaves the administration in complete disgrace, Republican Donald Trump took some time to respond to the departure of Rob Porter. And when he did respond, it was just as terrible as one might expect.
Porter resigned from the administration after two ex-wives told their stories of domestic abuse and one posted pictures of her bruised face. Trump briefly commented on the situation in the White House today.
In a short video posted by NBC News, Trump did not mention domestic violence or the ex-wives of Porter. He did, however, make sure to mention that the now-former aide is claiming his innocence. Trump stated (full video below):
We wish him well…It’s obviously a tough time for him. He did a very good job when he was in the White House. And we hope he has a wonderful career…ahead of him…
He also…says he’s innocent. I think you have to remember that. He said very strongly yesterday that he’s innocent…We absolutely wish him well. He did a very good job while he was at the White House.
Not mentioned by Trump is even a word about the ex-wives of Rob Porter or domestic violence, in general.
Donald Trump has faced accusations of abuse and sexual assault toward numerous women that the White House has officially called liars. He also brought Steve Bannon into the administration and tried and failed to bring Andy Puzder on as Labor Secretary, despite both having accusations of domestic abuse during their lives.
Rob Porter is out and it’s clear Donald Trump has nothing but praise for the former aide. But admitting he was wrong to allow him in the White House would go against everything the narcissist believes about himself.
He thinks he’s infallible and saying he is ever wrong about anything is not something that happens often or when it should. It’s just another disgusting display of Trump’s twisted mentality for the world to see.
