First Shot Fired In GOP Civil War, Graham Calls For Senate Investigation Into Russia DNC Hack (VIDEO)
Spoil Sport Lindsey Graham Is Throwing Cold Water On Trump And Putin
Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin looked to be having a budding international leader’s bromance developing, but it may come to a crashing halt before it gets too hot.
The Huffington Post is reporting that Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham is calling for Senate hearings to get to the bottom of claims that Putin got a little too involved in this year’s election, what with the whole hacking of DNC emails and such.
“Assuming for a moment that we do believe that the Russian government was controlling outside organizations that hacked into our election, they should be punished. Putin should be punished.”
As the Los Angeles Times puts it:
“Graham, who has sparred openly with Trump, his former rival in the presidential primary, is proposing that Congress hold a series of hearings on “Russia’s misadventures throughout the world” – including whether they were involved in “hacking into the DNC.””
Ohhh, the drama. Just when things were looking bright between Don and Vlad, along comes spoiler Lindsey doing something that is probably a really good idea to do. He wants to look into Russia’s involvement in Eastern Europe and whether or not they have committed war crimes in Syria as well as look at the election interference.
Trump seems to have an infatuation with Putin which was evident throughout the election campaign. And, one of the first world leaders Donald spoke with was Vladimir. As USA Today reports, Trump’s transition team said it went well.
“During the call, the two leaders discussed a range of issues including the threats and challenges facing the United States and Russia, strategic economic issues and the historical U.S.-Russia relationship that dates back over 200 years.”
The Kremlin said it is committed to, “dialogue with the new administration on the principles of equality, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of each other.”

They talked about getting together for a date…er, face to face meeting where they, “agreed to assess the current very poor state of Russian-American relations.” In other words, Putin would really, really, really like it if the US would drop sanctions that were put into place after Russia annexed Crimea.
“With the U.S. presidential transition underway, Vladimir Putin has said in recent days that he wants to improve relations with the United States. We should place as much faith in such statements as any other made by a former KGB agent who has plunged his country into tyranny, murdered his political opponents, invaded his neighbors, threatened America’s allies, and attempted to undermine America’s elections.”
Well, this is going smoothly now, isn’t it?
