Ann Coulter Becomes Butt Of Jokes At Comedy Central’s Rob Lowe Roast
The conservative polemicist’s participation as a roaster left some comedians scratching their heads.
On Saturday, Ann Coulter found herself joining in Comedy Central’s roast of Rob Lowe. As the conservative polemicist has no apparent personal or professional ties to the actor, some of the other participants were apparently bemused by her presence there, making her the butt of several particularly irreverent jokes.
“The only person you will ever make happy is the Mexican who digs your grave,” snapped comedian Nikki Glaser.
“Ann is one of the most repugnant, hateful, hatchet-face bitches alive,” insisted Jimmy Carr. “It’s not too late to change, Ann. You could kill yourself!”
“If you are here, Ann, who is scaring the crows away from our crops?” quipped Pete Davidson, a comedian best known for his work on Saturday Night Live. At one point during the taping, Davidson reportedly called Coulter a “racist cunt”.
Pop singer-songwriter Jewel seemed to lament the language, but joined in bashing Coulter nonetheless:
“I do want to say as a feminist that I can’t support everything that’s been said tonight. But as someone who hates Ann Coulter, I’m delighted.”
Coulter made headlines recently after ripping into Donald Trump for “flip-flopping” on his hard-line anti-immigration stance. Fellow political writers and polemicists were quick to note how betrayed by Trump she seems to be. On Thursday, my Reverb Press colleague Ed Hanratty analyzed Coulter’s evident affinity for Donald Trump:
“Donald Trump is the candidate of Ann Coulter’s dreams. For years, the public has been subjected to her rants and ravings about the GOP being too soft and not racist enough while the rest of us resoundingly cast more votes for Democrats than Republicans in five of the last six presidential elections. Then finally, her knight in gold plated armor rides in on his orange horse.”
