Adam Schiff Gets Ready To ‘Throw The Bums Out’
Rep. Adam Schiff (D.Cali.) gave one of the first signs on Sunday that Democrats would take action against President Trump. The ranking House Intelligence Committee member said:
…how do you counter a president who repeats falsehood, after falsehood, after falsehood, that has the bully pulpit of the presidency to do it and has allies in Congress that are willing to support that? At the end of the day there’s only one remedy for that and that is, you need to throw the bums out. As long as there’s a majority in Congress that is willing to do this president’s will, and as long as we have a deeply unethical president, there’s only one remedy. And that is to change the Congress and let the investigation go on. And that is what we need to fight to do.
Rep. Schiff was talking about President Trump’s claims that the FBI had put a “spy” into his 2016 campaign. The President claimed this after The New York Times reported that the FBI had sent an informant to speak with Trump campaign advisers George Papadapolous (who has plead guilty) and Carter Page. The agency was acting on evidence that some of the advisers had connections with Russian officials.
President Trump has increased his compulsion to create distractions in order to put pressure on the investigation. That investigation is being conducted on him by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, sanctioned by the Department of Justice (DOJ). Publicly, the investigation has already indicted 19 people so far. The President took to Twitter on Sunday morning, bemoaning the lives “destroyed” by the investigation.
Who’s going to give back the young and beautiful lives (and others) that have been devastated and destroyed by the phony Russia Collusion Witch Hunt? They journeyed down to Washington, D.C., with stars in their eyes and wanting to help our nation…They went back home in tatters!

Adam Schiff Takes Initiative For Democrats
When Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Cali.) first called out a House Republican, it was frustrating. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Cali.) had just held a surprise press briefing outside the White House. He had also broken committee protocol, getting classified documents without their knowledge. A week later, Schiff demanded that Nunes recuse himself from their investigation.

Over the year since, Nunes has practically lead an attack on the intelligence and justice community, in an effort to undermine the Trump-Russia investigation. Last week’s DOJ briefing was a result of some of that pressure. Then Trump demanded that the DOJ investigate the informant (a long time GOP operative, or, as Trump and his allies are trying to spin it, the “spy”) instead of his information. With very little resistance, the Justice Department, FBI and National Intelligence arranged for the classified briefing at the White House.
At the time, there was no involvement with Democrats. The plan was that only those Republicans such as Nunes and Trey Gowdy who share the committee with Rep. Schiff would be present. But the California Democrat said on Rachel Maddow’s show last Wednesday that Democrats would be there too. This would certainly make sure that the viewing was bipartisan. Rep. Schiff said after the DOJ briefing that there was no support to the White House’s claim that the FBI had a spy in their campaign.
Going After Corruption
In his Sunday interview, the House Democrat also pointed to the fact that the President keeps creating fictions. Various media figures have come out to say that the President has been lying. It’s clearer now than ever that President Trump is trying to obstruct justice. And, as Rep. Schiff pointed out on the ABC’s This Week, even Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani openly said that they wanted to find out more about the investigation so they could stop it.
Republicans have had very little to say about the President’s lies other than to support Nunes’ attacks. Most of the time they have questioned the FBI’s actions and even held a press conference in recent weeks, calling for the removal of those running the investigation. Other than the President’s supporters who would like to see him succeed, it’s broadly understood that the White House is fully corrupt.
Democrats have started a new campaign for the mid-terms that they call A Better Deal for Our Democracy. This campaign will target political corruption such as getting big money out of politics, empower the American voter and strengthening the Nation’s ethics laws. It’s suggested that they hope to ride that campaign on the steady stream of report of corruption about President Trump. With Adam Schiff’s message to “throw the bums out”, the goal couldn’t be any clearer.
