Harry Reid Goes Nuclear

Harry Reid just let loose a bombshell of a tirade against FBI director James Comey. And, as satisfying as it may be to see a top Democrat like Reid take down Comey in a way that the director sorely needs to be taken down, some of the information released in Reid’s epic berating is chilling to any thinking American.

On Sunday, Reid shot off an absolutely seething letter of contempt and hard truths to Comey, who, on Friday, made political headlines by coming forth with incredibly vague “revelations” that reveal nothing…but did manage to get Hillary Clinton’s name, tied with the word “email” back in the news.

“Your actions in recent months have demonstrated a disturbing double standard for the treatment of sensitive information, with what appears to be a clear intent to aid one political party over another,” Reid wrote. He also called Comey’s actions “partisan.”

“[Y]our highly selective approach to publicizing information, along with your timing, was intended for the success or failure of a partisan candidate or political group.”

One such example of Comey’s “selective approach,” Reid asserts, is Comey’s method – or lack thereof – in investigating GOP nominee Donald Trump’s ties to Russia and the Russian government.

That is terrifying.

Reid To Comey: Clearly Partisan

“In my communications with you and other top officials in the national security community, it has become clear that you possess explosive information about close ties and coordination between Donald Trump, his top advisors, and the Russian government – a foreign interest openly hostile to the United States, which Trump praises at every opportunity. I wrote to you months ago calling for this information to be released to the public…and yet, you continue to resist calls to inform the public of this critical information.”

Reid contrasted Comey’s overzealous approach to Clinton’s email case with that of his slow to act, and slower to speak, approach to Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.

“You rushed to take this step eleven days before a presidential election, despite the fact that for all you know, the information you possess could be entirely duplicative of the information you already examined which exonerated Secretary Clinton,” the senator wrote….all the while, sitting on information that is crucial to the safety of our county.

In closing, the Democrat reminded Comey that Reid himself had once been a supporter of James Comey….even when Republicans were not.

“I led the fight to get you confirmed because I believed you to be a principled public servant,” Reid stated. “With the deepest regret, I now see that I was wrong.”
