Creationists Freak Out Over Evolutionary ‘Back To The Sea’ Super Bowl Commercial (VIDEO)
Early in Super Bowl XLIX between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots, a commercial by the American-British global cruise company Carnival Corporation caused quite the stir on social media. Many commenters said that they loved the commercial, entitled Come Back To The Sea, but many others angrily deemed it the “worst commercial ever.”
So what were these critics angry about?
It seems that the commercial features a quote from former Democratic president John F. Kennedy at a 1962 dinner for America’s Cup crews. Here is that quote:
“I really don’t know why it is that all of us are so committed to the sea, except I think it’s because in addition to the fact that the sea changes, and the light changes, and ships change, it’s because we all came from the sea. And it is an interesting biological fact that all of us have, in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea – whether it is to sail or to watch it – we are going back from whence we came.”
As you can imagine, Creationists all over America took this as a slap in their collective faces, and lit up Twitter with some butthurt responses…

@RamTrucks Carnival commercial was weird as I did not come from the sea and think they are lame for putting me off saying so.

@CarnivalCruise I didn't come from the sea. Your anti-Christian commercial was divisive. Adam came from God breathing life into dust.
