The Internet Noticed Something Very Scary About Trump’s State of the Union Speech
Something very interesting and downright terrifying happened in Trump’s first State of the Union speech, and a whole lot of people picked up on it. And that was striking, unmistakable similarity between the unbelievably cocky, narcissistic strutting and posing which Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini was known for, and President Trump’s body language during his speech.

Celebrities, experts, and ordinary citizens alike commented on it.
Trump is getting comfortable, he’s starting to do his Mussolini nod #SOTU

Watch videos of Mussolini giving a speech and then Trump. I’ll leave it there. #SOTU

Trump keeps channeling Mussolini every time he thinks he said something big.

Trump fashion statement for this year’s #SOTU is the Mussolini Chin. Look for it while he tries to absorb the applause that deservedly belongs to others.

Trump's doing that Mussolini jaw-jut thing now.

Has #Trump been watching those films of #Mussolini strutting mugging grimacing posturing from the balcony of #PalazzoVenezia in Rome back in the day? Attempts total demonization of immigrants by com[parison with #MS13 which did not work well for #GOPer #Gillespie in #Virginia! https://t.co/U7Hzb8pyCW

i feel like Trump is pivoting to his Mussolini profile too much. #SOTU

— Sal (@salomonhoglund) January 31, 2018
tRump reminding me more Benito Mussolini than others, but still as disturbing…

I feel like I’m looking at Mussolini watching Trump give his pathetic speech. It’s all about demagoguing
— BroMark (@BroMark13) January 31, 2018
And horror author Steven King, who always has his finger on the pulse of terror before anyone else, even brought up the comparison a day before the speech:
Folks willing to give Trump a pass because their 401ks are swelling remind me of Italians willing to give Mussolini a pass because he made the trains run on time.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) January 29, 2018
But easily the scariest comparison to Mussolini came ten full days before…
