Trump Has a Huge Lead…In Leisure And Tax Dollars Spent
It seems as though there is one area where President Donald Trump is outperforming former President Obama. However, it’s not something that Trump will want listed on his very, very short list of accomplishments.
But as far as taxpayer money spent on travel, as well as sheer amount of time spent on vacations (and golfing), Donald Trump is far-and-away the total winner.
And remember, too, that every time Donald travels to one of his own properties, he’s also putting some of that taxpayer money back into his own pocket. So, it’s a win-win for him, just as his presidency continues to be a complete lose-lose for the country.
Obama caught a great deal of flak from the right over his travel. Conservatives were outraged that Obama had the nerve to take family vacations to Hawaii, despite the fact that the president before him, George W. Bush, was a much-more frequent vacationer. And they also flipped out repeatedly over the fact that their precious tax dollars also covered the expense of Obama’s wife and daughters travelling, as well. And then, of course, there was the constant onslaught of right wing horror over Obama’s golfing.
Even Donald Trump clutched his metaphorical pearls and gasped in outrage over that.
Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf.Worse than Carter

Bet he is regretting that – and the 25 other tweets he sent lamenting about Obama’s golfing.
Cue The Right Wing Outrage…Right?
And yet, while Donald majestically outperforms Obama in time spent on vacations, money spent on travel, number of times he hit the greens…and money his wife and youngest son cost the taxpayers, the right seems pretty quiet. It’s confusing, especially considering that it costs between $127,000 and $146,000 per day simply to “protect the First Lady and her son while they reside in Trump Tower,” according to the New York Police Department.
Furthermore, this last weekend marks Trump’s 16th documented round of golf. In comparison, CNN reminds us that Obama’s first round didn’t come until April 26th of 2009 – almost 100 days into his presidency.
And so, as Trump closes in on the end of his first 100 days of his presidency, that symbolic benchmark that presidential accomplishments are measured by, don’t buy into the fact that, simply because Trump’s young presidency has yet to produce a single piece of legislation, and has been rife with scandals, and his campaign is currently under investigation, he hasn’t accomplished anything.
Because he totally has.
He has gone on more vacations, spent more taxpayer money on travel, and golfed more than President Obama within that same time frame. And not just by a little, but by a lot. I mean, there is really no comparison. Trump has just destroyed Obama’s numbers in those areas.
During his campaign, Trump stated:
“I don’t ever think that I’d see anything, I just wanna stay in the White House and work my ass off, make great deals, right? Who’s gonna leave? I mean, who’s gonna leave?”
It seems we now have the answer to that “who’s gonna leave?” question.
And the answer is Trump. Repeatedly. Every chance that he gets.
