Carly Fiorina Laments Terrorist Attack, Keeps Spreading The Planned Parenthood Lies That Provoked It.
“Well, this is a tragedy. It’s obviously a tragedy. Nothing justifies this,” GOP 2016 hopeful Carly Fiorina told Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday when he asked her about the terrorist attack on a Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs. She then proceeds to push the usual bogus narrative of a deranged loner:
“And presumably this man who appears deranged, if nothing else, will be tried for murder, as he should be. But it’s a tragedy, especially on a holiday weekend.”
No, Carly Fiorina. This isn’t just some random tragic event that fell out of the sky, and Robert Lewis Dear is not a lone actor: He’s a terrorist, armed due to lax gun laws her political party refuses to address, and primed to unleash his free-floating anger on Planned Parenthood because of lies she promotes.
That’s right. The ex-Hewlett Packard CEO has a lot to answer for. Sure, Planned Parenthood has been cleared of wrongdoing, and the hoax videos have been proven false. But the damage has been done. The FBI reports attacks, threats, vandalism, arson and hacking against Planned Parenthood clinics have been on the rise since the anti-choice “Center for Medical Progress” released the videos. Since the Colorado Springs Police Dept. told news outlets Robert Lewis Dear’s deranged ramblings include, “no more baby parts,” Carly Fiorina either needs to back away from the “baby parts” lies or sue him for plagiarism.
But when Chris Wallace asked how she’d respond to critics like me, who believe her lies and rhetoric have helped incite violence against women’s clinics, the infamous CEO stood firm. When even a Fox “News” host refers to Planned Parenthood’s “harvesting of [baby] parts” for fetal research as “alleged,” others might take the hint and dial things back a bit. But not Carly Fiorina:
And even though Americans support funding for Planned Parenthood by a resounding 2:1 majority, fact-challenged Carly Fiorina insists most of us want to shut it down.
“Secondly, this is so typical of the left to immediately begin demonizing the messenger, because they don’t agree with the message. The vast majority of Americans agree, what Planned Parenthood is doing is wrong. That’s why the vast majority of Americans are prepared not only to defund Planned Parenthood, but also to stop abortion for any reason at all after five months.”
Oh, and here’s where it gets rich: Carly Fiorina then goes and lambastes liberals for protesting the hypocrisy of a party that staunchly believes you can be both “pro-life” and pro-gun.
“So, what I would say to anyone who tries to link this terrible tragedy to anyone who opposes abortion or opposes the sale of body parts is, this is typical left-wing tactics.”
As for the anti-choice protesters, Chris Wallace wants to know if Carly Fiorina wants to share any thoughts with them. She replies:
“Well, any protesters should always be peaceful, whether it’s Black Lives Matter or pro-life protesters, protesters should always be peaceful and respectful.”
But this is yet another right-wing example of false equivalence. There’s a huge difference between protesting a corrupt and racist justice system that wreaks terror, prison and death on people of color, and standing outside of health clinics while trying to harass, bully and intimidate the women and teens who seek their services. Also, I agree that protesters should “always be peaceful,” but — as long as the world is run by people like Carly Fiorina — I say, the hell with the “respectful” part.
