Scott Walker Defunds Planned Parenthood And Screws Women Out Of Healthcare In Wisconsin
Scott Walker slashes Planned Parenthood funding, continues his war on women’s healthcare.
Last week Wisconsin’s GOP Gov. Scott Walker (R-WI) doubled down on his war on women and women’s healthcare by signing a law to reduce funds for Planned Parenthood.
One of the bills will slash 4.5 million each year from Planned Parenthood by requiring clinics to bill “Medicaid for the dispensing fees and acquisition costs of birth control pills,” reports wkow.com. The other law blocks Planned Parenthood from receiving federal Title X grant money. Planned Parenthood is the only organization to receive this grant currently.

What Is Title X?
Title X “provides individuals with comprehensive family planning and related preventive health services.” Established in 1970, Title X exists under the Public Health Service Act (Public Law 91-572 Population Research and Voluntary Family Planning Programs). The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Population Affairs (OPA) funds nearly 4,200 family planning centers through “state, county, and local health departments; community health centers; Planned Parenthood centers; and hospital-based, school-based, faith-based, other private nonprofits.”
Here are Title X missions:
- Training for family planning clinic personnel through five national training programs that focus on clinical training; service delivery; management and systems improvement; coordination and strategic initiatives; and quality assurance/improvement and evaluation
- Family planning research and evaluation to improve Title X service delivery and inform the broader reproductive health care field
- Information dissemination and community-based education and outreach
Mark my words, the goal of Gov. Walker’s agenda is to defund Planned Parenthood from the state, practically eradicating it from existence. Thus, hundreds of babies will be born, and the Christian God will be happy (ref: my snark).

Pro-LIfe Believers Believe Life Begins At Conception.
Gov. Walker’s move to reduce funding for the women’s healthcare facility is a far cry from shock. He firmly believes life begins at conception. In October 2014, Emily’s List released an ad campaign in Wisconsin which harshly criticized Walker’s pro-life stance, defining his position as radical and a detriment to women’s health.
“Scott Walker wants to make all abortions illegal, even in cases of rape or incest,” she says. “Look, this is one of the toughest decisions a woman has to make. It’s not up to politicians like Scott Walker. Scott Walker needs to get out of my patients’ private lives, out of my examining room and just leave women alone.”

Irritated by Emily Lists accusation, he released a pro-life ad in response:
“Hi, I’m Scott Walker. I’m pro-life. But there’s no doubt in my mind the decision of whether or not to end a pregnancy is an agonizing one. That’s why I support legislation to increase safety and to provide more information for a woman considering her options. The bill leaves the final decision to a woman and her doctor. Now, reasonable people can disagree on this issue. Our priority is to protect the health and safety of all Wisconsin citizens.”
