Trump Admits He Intentionally Tried to Intimidate FBI Director Comey (VIDEO)

As reported in the New York Times today, “FOX & Friends aired an interview with President Donald Trump this morning where he had a lot to say. And none of it puts to bed any allegations of witness tampering or obstruction of justice.

The interview took place in the White House beginning with Melania Trump at his side with some softball questions for the First Lady on living in the White House. But the questions soon took a significantly more serious tone.

FOX reporter Ainsley EarhardtFirst began with questions about yesterday’s tweet, regarding the non-existence of any “tapes” documenting discussions between himself and former-FBI Director James Comey. Mr. Trump had infamously hinted he was in possession of sensitive recordings of said conversations between Comey and himself, in which Comey testified that Trump asked him to “let go” of the FBI investigation into Michael Flynn, and for his “loyalty” as head of the FBI. In the FOX News interview, Trump tried to wash this all away by stating that he was referring to the possibility that someone else, or some organization, may possess recordings:

“I’ve been reading about it for the last couple of months about the seriousness of the horribleness of the situation with surveillance all over the place. So you never know what’s out there, but I didn’t tape, and I don’t have any tape and I didn’t tape.”

And as shockingly stated by Mr. Trump when asked if he made the claim about the tapes in an attempt to intimidate Mr. Comey, he stated,

“Well, it wasn’t very stupid, I can tell you that.”

In a response to yesterday’s tweet by Trump, Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) said on CNN’s “Erin Burnett Out Front” last evening, according to a report on,

“And what’s remarkable about that is James Comey didn’t know either way whether there were tapes, and came forward anyway. So if there were tapes and he told a lie to Congress, he risked perjury. So I think that goes to show how believable and how credible James Comey’s testimony was — which was very damaging for the president.”

The FOX interview also covered the Commander in Chief’s perceived impartiality of Robert S. Mueller III. Mueller, head of the special counsel in charge of investigating any collusion between the President’s associates and the Russian government during his 2016 Presidential Campaign, was smeared by Trump by stating,

“He’s very, very good friends with Comey, which is very bothersome.”

Finally, Mr. Trump goes on to give a blanket denial of any wrongdoing regarding the entire scandal,

“(T)here’s been no collusion, no obstruction, and virtually everybody agrees to that.”

This remark leaves the question begging, “Who’s everybody?!”
