Trump Blasted by His Own Chief of Staff Over Comey Firing – Kelly Nearly Quit

Comey Stopped Kelly From Walking Out Of Trump Administration

It’s been no secret that Republican Donald Trump has butted heads with virtually everyone around him at one point or another. And as those clashes have continued and escalated, fewer and fewer of the so-called “Boy Scouts” in the administration, like Rex Tillerson and H.R. McMaster are hanging around.

One of the others in that group was current Chief of Staff John Kelly, at least until his bungling of the Rob Porter situation. But a new revelation that has leaked from James Comey’s upcoming book says Kelly could have actually been the first one of that group to go, if not for Comey intervening.

The Daily Beast reports sources who have seen the closely held book before release state Kelly was floored by the way Trump fired Comey so publicly and disgracefully. In a phone call to Comey, Kelly was ready to walk away from the “dishonorable” administration. The former FBI Director convinced him to stay. According to the report:

Kelly, Comey recalls, said he was “sick” about the situation and “intended to quit” in protest. Kelly “said he didn’t want to work for dishonorable people,” referring specifically to President Donald Trump, who appeared to be upset at the FBI’s persistent investigation into his campaign’s possible collusion with Russian officials.

According to sources, Comey writes in his book that he encouraged Kelly to remain in his post, saying “this president,” more than his predecessors, needed people of principle and integrity around him.

This wouldn’t be the first time Kelly has reportedly bashed Trump behind closed doors. Trump exploded that he was being treated like a “child” after Kelly told Democratic lawmakers the president was “uninformed” on immigration policy.

All of these revelations come after reports Rex Tillerson called Trump a “moron” after a meeting last summer and H.R. McMaster said the Republican leader was an “idiot” and a “dope” with the intelligence of a “kindergartner”.

Once again, it looks as if another person working closely with the president ripped Donald Trump when given the opportunity. If you don’t see the trend by now, you may need to get your eyes checked out.
