Planned Parenthood Shooter Acknowledges Guilt, Declares Self A “Warrior”
Planned Parenthood shooter Robert Lewis Dear expressed absolutely no remorse for his senseless killings when he appeared in court on Wednesday. In a story first reported by CBS Denver, Dear went on a rant declaring that the world would never know the “atrocities” he allegedly witnessed at Planned Parenthood.
“You’ll never know the amount of blood I saw in that place.”
The outburst in the El Paso County Court was overheard by reporter Rick Sallinger, who claimed Dear said he was “guilty” and that he was “a warrior for the babies.”
Some are wondering if the many outbursts (reportedly 17 in all) is Robert Dear’s way of avoiding serious punishment by making a case for an insanity defense. His ramblings could come across as the words of someone who cannot tell fantasy from reality and who cannot comprehend that what he did was wrong.
However, it’s more than likely that evidence of yet another entitled, gun-toting hypocrite who places their skewed view of which lives get to be precious and which don’t, playing God (often in the name of God) over the lives and freedoms of other people. KCCI reports that when the lawyers were adding those injured in the shooting to the list of atrocities, Dear commented with,
“Could you add the babies that were to be aborted that day? Can you add that to the list?”
This is what happens when the far-right tirelessly paints Planned Parenthood as a great evil in American society despite the fact that (1) Roe v. Wade made a woman’s choices about her body no one’s goddamn business but her own and (2) abortions barely account for THREE PERCENT of the many — and very important — services the organization actually provides to women.
Dear claimed he saw blood and atrocities, when what he would more than likely have seen were cancer screenings, STD treatment and testing, or women being given contraceptives.

It’s hardly surprising that a man like Robert Dear would paint himself as a champion of life while gunning down innocent people. This “warrior” believes that what he did was okay because he’s under the delusion that unborn life is somehow sacred while human life outside the womb is expendable.
This is a familiar mantra from the far right and from anti-choice hypocrites. The Planned Parenthood shooter is like so many Americans who view women are mere incubators. Adding insult to injury, once the babies exit the womb, depending on their gender, race, sexual orientation, or religion, these “pro-life” champions cease to give a flying fuck about their “right to life.”
This is expressed most strongly by the pro-gun, anti-gun control advocates who applaud the ability of people like Dear to get his hands on a weapon. It’s blatantly obvious they don’t care how many lives are taken as long as they can carry on with the long-debunked delusion that guns in the hands of Americans (preferably white) will keep everyone safe from criminals and terrorists. Except, of course, when they need protection from those delusional people with guns.
