Twitter Isn’t Buying ‘Complicit’ Ivanka Trump’s Superficial ‘I Disagree With My Dad’ Excuses
First Daughter Ivanka Trump is trying to act like she’s not daddy’s girl, but Twitter isn’t having it. She’s currently featured in the latest issue of Us Weekly in which “sources close” to her attempt to explain the ways in which she disagrees with her dad, Raw Story reports.
The magazine reports that Ivanka is trying to “balance her personal ideals with love and loyalty to her father,” while also emphasizing that she will always fight for what she believes in.”
But Twitter users were on the job. They saw through this likely ruse quickly, seeing the story as an attempt to save her personal brand, which has tanked among the young women that she pitches her products to.
Here’s what some Twitter users had to say:

Ariana Grande shows dignity and selflessness in the face terrorism, but that isn’t nearly as selfless as Ivanka’s inability to influence dad

Yes indeed, what has happened to those three labor activists who were investigating companies that manufacture her clothing brand? They were detained, and two have disappeared. The activists work for China Labor Watch, a New York-based NGO and were in China when they were detained.
We have no idea where these three people are, but Ivanka’s fluffing her image by acting like the b.s. artist that she is? She disagrees with her dad? If she cared about these missing people, shouldn’t she have mentioned that? She’s so far removed from reality that these activists may be buried six feet under, for all we know.
She attempted to deflect the criticism in an interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning, saying she tells her dad when she disagrees with him and noted that they have differing opinions about Planned Parenthood, gay rights and immigration.
That’s all well and good, but wouldn’t it be helpful if she actually spoke out and contradicted the president if so? It would benefit Planned Parenthood and those who are being harmed by her father’s racist and Islamophobic views.
Glimmer on with your shallow self, Ivanka. We see you for who you are.
