Black Protester At Trump Rally Gets Suckerpunched In Front Of Police, And HE Gets Detained (VIDEO)

Another Trump Rally, Another Violent Incident. It Never Ends

What is it with Donald Trump supporters and violence? Trump appears to have tapped into an outraged, punch-happy, hateful, and spiteful demographic and the list of thoroughly disturbing incidences happening at Trump rallies continues to grow.

The latest incident of violence happened at a rally in North Carolina, where a black protester who was being escorted out of the Trump rally by members of the Sheriff’s office was sucker punched by a Trump fan. And for some bizarre reason, the victim, 26-year-old Rakeem Jones, ended up on the ground being detained. The Washington Post spoke to Jones over the phone about the incident.

“Boom, he caught me. After I get it, before I could even gain my thoughts, I’m on the ground getting escorted out. Now I’m waking up this morning looking at the news and seeing me getting hit again…. The police jumped on me like I was the one swinging. It’s like this dude really hit me and they let him get away with it. I was basically in police custody and got hit.”

To add insult to injury, literally, it also appears to someone in the crowd shouted, “Go home, n*ggers.”

Rakeem was at the rally with four friends that he describes as a diverse group, including a white woman, a gay man and a Muslim. They were there as part of a “social experiment.” The group was asked to leave after the woman began shouting. However, as Rakeem pointed out, she was just one of many people shouting. It was a very shouty affair.

“She shouted, but at the same time, they were shouting too. Everyone was shouting, too. … No one in our group attempted to get physical.”

Violence and abuse have become hallmarks of Trump rallies, with several incidents being recorded, including one at a rally in Kentucky on March 1, as the National Catholic Reporter points out. At the rally, a young, black, female college student, Shiya Nwanguma, was shoved, hit and yelled at by a group of white men. Among the group was a man known for being a White Nationalist, Matthew Heimbach. Also involved was Joseph Pryor. He was in the U.S. Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program, but that dream went up in smoke over the incident, and he was discharged.

At the same rally, a group of white anti-racist, pro-human rights protesters were also attacked. One woman in that group claims that her breasts were grabbed as well.

Back on Oct. 28, 2015, TIME magazine reported on an incident at a campaign rally in Miami where a group of Latino protesters showed up to make their voice be heard, chanting “Equality” and “Dignity”. The event took an ugly turn.

“There was yelling, kicking and pushing. One Trump supporter used a campaign sign that read “The Silent Majority Stands With Trump,” to hit a protester on his back as he was being led away. A large bald man grabbed protester Ariel Rojas by the collar, toppling him to the floor, before kicking him.”

This campaign season has seen a long run of disturbingly violent altercations at Trump rallies, and they just don’t seem to be stopping.

“Supporters of the Republican frontrunner were caught spitting on Hispanic protesters at an event in Richmond, Virginia. At an event before the U.S. Capitol in September, one supporter was caught on video pulling the hair of a young woman who tried to shout down Trump. Outside Trump’s New York headquarters, Trump’s personal bodyguard was videotaped ripping a sign from the hands of a protester on the public sidewalk. When the protester tried to grab it back, he punched the protester in the face.”

It has become abundantly clear that Donald Trump rallies are not safe places, especially if you are a non-white protester standing up against Trump’s bigotry and hate.
