LeBron James Pays Tribute To Eric Garner (IMAGES)
Monday evening, before the Cleveland Cavaliers v. Brooklyn Nets game, LeBron James took to the court for warm-ups wearing a t-shirt reading, “I CAN’T BREATHE’ in tribute to Eric Garner who died at the hands of a New York City police officer. Garner was unarmed, and while held in a chokehold by Officer Daniel Pantaleo his last words were, “I can’t breathe” — Pantaleo never eased up.
Massive protests have risen up after the failure to indict Pantaleo on any charges, and James is among many who have voiced their dissent against the non-idictment, as well as their support for the Garner family.

Having major players like these men bringing much-needed attention on such a publicized platform is unbelievably admirable. In an interview with ESPN, LeBron James said:
I’ve been quoted over and over about what’s going on as far as it’s more of a notion to the family, more than anything. Obviously, as a society we have to do better. We have to be better for one another. It doesn’t matter what race you are. It’s more of a shout out to the family more than anything, because they’re the ones that should be getting all the energy and effort.”
